The inventory is mainly based on literature data and datasheets available from machinery manufacturers.0The data set is representative for the mentioned region.Mining truck used in mines. The vehicle has a payload of 220t and a max. power output of 1700kW. The average load factor is 0.6. It is fuelled by diesel. The following combustion emissions due to engine operation are taken into account: NOx, CO, Hydrocarbons, CO2, SO2, benzene, toluene, xylene, CH4, N2O and particles. Emissions due to machinery production and end of life are excluded. The background system is addressed as follows: Refinery products: Diesel, gasoline, technical gases, fuel oils, basic oils and residues such as bitumen are modelled via a country-specific, refinery parameterised model. The refinery model represents the current national standard in refinery techniques (e.g. emission level, internal energy consumption,...) as well as the individual country-specific product output spectrum, which can be quite different from country to country. Hence the refinery products used show the individual country-specific use of resources. The supply of crude oil is modelled, again, according to the country-specific crude oil situation with the respective properties of the resources.Diesel mix at refineryOff road transport of excavated materials with a payload of 220t.pe_lbp-gabi_transport_system_including_fuel_22381701-a192-11db-b606-0800200c9a66.jpgPartly terminated systemAttributionalNoneAllocation - net calorific valueAllocation - massFor the combined crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids production allocation by net calorific value is applied. Within the refinery allocation by net calorific value and mass is used.Direct land use change: GHG emissions from direct LUC allocated to good/service for 20 years after the LUC occurs.
Carbon storage and delayed emissions: credits associated with temporary (carbon) storage or delayed emissions are not considered in the calculation of the Global Warming Potential impacts for the default impact categories.
Emissions off-setting: not included
Fossil and biogenic carbon emissions and removals: removals and emissions are modelled as follows: All GHG emissions from fossil fuels (including peat and limestone) are modelled consistently with the ILCD list of elementary flows. In the case that the emissions refer to the molecules CO2 and CH4, they are modelled as ‘carbon dioxide (fossil)’ and ‘methane (fossil)’. Biogenic uptake and emissions are modelled separately. For land use change, all carbon emissions and uptakes are inventoried separately for each of the elementary flows. Soil carbon accumulation (uptake) via improved agricultural management is excluded from the model.NoneGaBi Modelling PrinciplesGaBi Water Modelling PrinciplesGaBi Agriculture Model DocumentationGaBi Land Use Change Model DocumentationGaBi Energy Modelling PrinciplesGaBi Refinery Modelling PrinciplesCut-off rules for each unit process: Coverage of at least 95 % of mass and energy of the input and output flows, and 98 % of their environmental relevance (according to expert judgement).Manufacturing and EoL of vehicle is not included.Data sources for the transport system are sufficiently consistent, emission factors are based on average European conditions (key emissions are based on measured operating data). LCI modelling is fully consistent.NoneSeveral data sources have been averaged. Measured data from representative transport systems have been upscaled.NoneEmission Inventory Guidebook: Road Transport, 2006Handbook emission factors for road transport. v 2.1, 2004Diesel Emissions Evaluation for the Surface Mining Industry, 2001Belaz 75306 data sheet, 2007GaBi databases95.0noneThe LCI data set should be used for LCI/LCA studies where mining materials have to be transported. Vehicle production and end-of-life treatment are not part of the data set (negligible from a LCA point of view).
